brown trading co. portland, maine.

In the Old Port in Portland, there is a little fish & gourmet shop called Brown Trading Co.  Jenika works in the neighborhood, so she picked up some smoked salmon, & we tried out the smoked salmon & avocado sushi recipe from my post a few weeks ago. Doesn't this place look so fun?

To top off the meal, she picked up seaweed salad & miso soup from the local Japanese restaurant, then I made a cucumber salad from the mix-up of cucumbers that Jenika & I accumulated from different markets.

cucumber salad.
serves 4

4 cucumbers, sliced in half lengthwise, then in slices
the juice of 1 lime
1 TBL honey
2 tsp sesame oil
sea salt & cracked pepper

1. Toss together.
