apple cider doughnuts. revisited. {vegetarian}

Last year around this time I made my ultimate favorite, yet hard to find, cider doughnuts. Last time I forgot to take pictures because I ate them so fast, but this year I came through on some pics of us enjoying these little treats.

The recipe I used was from Smitten Kitchen, but instead of doing the step where I would cut out the doughnut shapes I just scooped the batter with a tablespoon & dropped it in the oil. The homely, homey appearance gave them a little more character! I topped them off with the cider glaze that Smitten Kitchen suggests.
